Yes! Prentis has direct partnerships with trade, vocational, and technical programs throughout the U.S. that set their own criteria for accepting interested students.

Prentis works with each school to understand the acceptance criteria for their programs. We then open an application window on their behalf so interested students can learn about the material being taught, create a free account, and complete the free Prentis pre-assessment before a student's information is scored and sent.

If you receive acceptance to a school and/or program, from either Prentis or the school directly — it is a conditional acceptance. This means that you MUST complete your enrollment directly with the school by completing some final steps, including but not limited to submitting to a background check, sending your transcript, and completing an in-person visit, which may include taking a written test.

If you've completed Prentis' pre-assessment, any written test will likely be a breeze.

We are constantly adding new programs to the site and updating our pre-assessments with new program-related questions. However, application windows can vary significantly, given the stagged start dates of some programs and the varied length of each.

Some programs are as short as 6 months, while others are as long as 18 months, so check back frequently.

Our partner schools are held accountable by stakeholders at the federal and state level to place graduates in a role that corresponds with their field of study. Many schools report placement rates of 80+% upon graduation, given the aforementioned mandate, with some students, anecdotally, being hired prior to graduation given demand for their skills.

Not at all! Prospective students may decide not to accept any offers from Prentis affiliated schools or programs. That's ok.

You do not need to do anything to decline open offers, though it's a good idea to contact the school and notify them before the program's start date.

However, should you choose to attend a school that you've been accepted into, you MUST complete the enrollment process directly with the school by completing some final steps, including but not limited to submitting to a background check, sending your transcript, and completing an in-person visit, which may include taking a written test BEFORE the program begins.
